Call Margaret Rutherford

Call Margaret Rutherford

A very appreciative audience gathered for Jacqueline Pilton’s one woman show ‘Call Margaret Rutherford’ at Central Library last night. Jacqueline’s well paced and carefully observed drama led us through the public triumphs and private trials of that great lady of British stage and cinema. Jacqueline’s uncanny resemblance to Margaret and a narrative that balanced the little known revelations that had haunted the actress’s life with the quirks and eccentricities that had endeared her to British audiences made us feel that the ‘Blythe Spirit’ of Rutherford was indeed present amongst us. Many thanks Jacqueline for a brilliant start to the Wordpool presents programme.
