An Evening with Lesley Pearse
Blackpool Libraries would like to extend a huge welcome to the successful writer, Lesley Pearse. She will be joining us at Blackpool Central Library to reveal the secrets of her success!
Lesley has sold over 7 million books worldwide which are varied in subject and take us to many faraway places.
The heart rending book ‘Trust Me’ takes us through the journey of British Migrant children sent to Australia and the hardships they suffered in the schools and orphanages, whilst her novel ‘Gypsy’ takes us to Alaska and Canada and the excitement of the Klondike Gold Rush!
The author has also been inspired to create the Women of Courage Awards now in its sixth year. The aim of the Award is to recognise women who have done something positive – either for themselves, or for others, and the winner is personally chosen by Lesley.
Lesley does all her own research so on her visit to New Orleans, the Bordellos of the 1900’s French Quarter and the music of Bourbon Street inspired her to write the novel ‘Belle’. As the character proved so popular, it compelled her to write the sequel ‘The Promise’ set during the First World War and the heroics of the medics in particular.
Tickets are available from any Blackpool Library and they are £3 each. Concessions are £2.
