Hearts for the Arts Shortlist
The Wordpool team were really excited to be nominated for the Hearts for the Arts– Best Local Authority Arts Initiative Award so needless to say, when we found out we’d been shortlisted we were over the moon! The annual award recognises local authorities who are investing in the ‘joy, excitement and life-enriching quality of the arts’. At Wordpool HQ, we understand the importance of the arts for our communities and making arts accessible to everyone. Wordpool Festival has been a very important in conveying this message over the past 10 years.
We’re now in our 11th year and our festival now has four micro-festivals across the year which gives us a larger platform to nurture a greater love of arts and libraries in our area.
We’re honoured to hear the positive remarks that actor and director, Samuel West, said about our festival…
“Such energy and inventiveness; encouraging young people’s creative writing is an investment for the future”
Congratulations and good luck to everyone else nominated!
